The purification of proteins should be simple and reproducible with as little hands-on time as possible. Often, a high degree of automation and high throughput is desired without compromising flexibility to purify now and then in a different way.
And at the end of the day, who wants to risk destroying a column, by accidentally exposing it to air or high pressure? The NGC system paired with the ChromLab software has an answer to all these and other requirements.
With the help of a large selection of method templates and method modules, the intuitive and modular ChromLab software allows the user to create complex methods within a very short time.
Once methods have been created, they can be easily transferred to a different database or sent and exchanged by email. Thus, generated methods can be made available to colleagues or collaboration partners.
Manual control of the NGC and intervention into running protocols is possible both via PC and touch screen integrated into the system. This enables the user to react quickly, even if system and PC are not located at the same site. Using a VNC app - password protected, of course - control can even be taken with a smartphone or a tablet PC.
The evaluation of the experiments can also be carried out with just a few clicks. Creating PDF reports and exporting data is made easy for the end user.
The data itself is securely stored in an SQL database and access can be restricted by setting up a user administration. The optional Security Edition of the software allows working within FDA CFR21 Part 11 compliance.
The truly modular structure of the system allows a free and optimized placement of the individual modules. This design not only allows the chromatography system to grow with your future requirements, but also enables optimization of the flow paths for special applications. The expansion of the system can simply be done by inserting additional modules into the base unit.
Just by exchanging a few modules - not the entire system - you can switch between a high-pressure low-flow system (250 bar at 20 ml/min) and a low-pressure high-flow system (100 bar at 200 ml/min).
The use of different tubing and an optimized fraction collection (collector or valve) allows working from microliter scale up to small batch purifications.
Of course, all modules required for state-of-the-art medium pressure chromatography systems are available, including inlet and outlet valves, sample pump, air sensors, mixer, injection module, column switching valve, single or multi-wavelength detector incl. conductivity measurement, pH module, various fraction collectors.
Safety / Sensors / Monitoring:
To protect this capital investment as well as valuable columns from damage, the NGC system in combination with the ChromLab software has various security mechanisms. Air and pressure sensors paired with the innovative LED technology of the NGC system guarantee the safety of your experiments. In addition, the ChromLab software can automatically send messages to inform you about events that have occurred.
External detectors and autosamplers:
The modularity of the system allows and supports the easy integration of external detectors (e.g. fluorescence, RI, MALS) as well as the extension of the loading capacity by an autosampler.
The intuitive software combined with the modular system design reduces hands-on time and allows a high degree of automation.
