Designed to make work in the lab easier and more efficient than ever, the new Milli-Q® IQ 7000 truly reflects Merck’s legacy in lab water leadership. This new water purification system is the result of working closely with our customers, and combining their feedback with our strong engineering and technical expertise.
Ergonomic Design Improves Productivity
The system's new Q-POD® ultrapure water dispenser offers superior flexibility, with simple and intuitive dispensing. Just a twist of the new dispensing wheel delivers water at the flow rate you need – from precise drop by drop or up to a full 2 l/min. Dispensing options can also be selected from the Q-POD Home screen. While dispensing, water quality parameters remain onscreen for easy checking, and are also constantly monitored by the system, for full confidence in your water quality.
Save precious work space by integrating the system’s compact water production unit on the wall or under the bench. Each Milli-Q IQ 7000 system is designed for use with up to 4 Q-POD dispensers, which can be installed in the same lab, or split between adjacent labs. Cabling is available in customizable lengths and enclosed in protective sheathing for a neat, uncluttered installation. A range of POD-Paks is available to match water quality to your various application needs.
Intuitive Graphic Interface
Everyday interactions with the new Milli-Q IQ 7000 system take place via the high-definition digital touchscreen. Navigation is intuitive, with information organized to provide the most efficient user experience. There is no need to search through a user manual: all details for daily use are at your fingertips.
The system can easily be connected to lab networks through an integrated data management system that allows quick, easy access to information.
When consumables need to be replaced periodically, the system will inform you in advance with an onscreen message, and then automatically provides step-by-step guidance when you are ready to change the cartridges.
Novel Mercury-Free UV Lamps
We're proud to pioneer the use of environmentally friendly, mercury-free UV lamps in the Milli-Q IQ 7000 system. These ech2o® lamps ensure oxidation of organic contaminants using xenon excimer (excited dimer) technology emitting at 172 nm wavelength.
Other sustainability strong points include a smaller system footprint (23% smaller than prior Milli-Q systems), and reduced IPAK Meta® and IPAK Quanta® cartridge sizes (33% smaller than former cartridges). These changes reduce the volume of plastic required in the manufacturing process, decreasing packaging needs, and beneficially impact product transportation and waste levels. And with system documentation available online, the Milli-Q IQ 7000 supports a paperless environment. The unique LabClose mode “hibernates” the system to save on water and electricity usage when the lab is closed for extended periods.
Precise A10® Total Organic Carbon (TOC) Monitoring
The Milli-Q IQ 7000 delivers ultrapure water with low TOC (≤ 2 ppb in appropriate operating conditions; typically ≤ 5 ppb). TOC values are measured online by the A10 TOC monitor, which has been redesigned for even greater accuracy. The monitor's 0.5 – 999.9 range and precision comply with USP and EP suitability tests. The A10 monitor is also equipped with an ech2o mercury-free UV oxidation lamp.
Introduced earlier this year, the Milli-Q IQ 7000 system is the first product in an offering that replaces Merck's previous-generation Milli-Q Advantage A10 systems.
