Confined Carbon Mediating Dehydroaromatization of Methane over Mo/ZSM‐5

Eingeschlossene Kohlenstoffspezies spielen eine doppelte Rolle in der nichtoxidativen Dehydroaromatisierung von Methan über Mo‐Atom/ZSM‐5‐Katalysatoren. In ihrer Zuschrift (DOI: 10.1002/ange.201711839) zeigen N. Kosinov, E. J. M. Hensen et al. mithilfe von Operando‐Spektroskopie, Mikroskopie und Isotopenmarkierung von Methan, dass polycyclische aromatische Kohlenwasserstoffe, die in den Mikroporen des Zeolith‐Katalysators entstehen, entscheidende Zwischenstufen auf dem Weg zu Benzol sind. Diese Spezies desaktivieren den Katalysator durch Bildung von Ablagerungen, die den Zugang zu den Poren versperren.
