Microwave Digestion at Its Best
Over 35 years ago, Anton Paar developed the first digestion system with a nitrogen pressurized digestion chamber and pressure-sealed vessels – the HPA. Combining the HPA design with modern microwave digestion technology, the Multiwave 7000 represents the best way of acid digestion.
Complete acid digestions of all sample types
Multiwave 7000 can handle high (≥3 g) and low sample amounts (≤0.1 g) as well as high (≥50 mL) and low sample volumes (≤100 µL). Temperatures up to 300 °C and pressures up to 199 bar ensure complete digestions of all kinds of samples such as food, environmental, polymer, cosmetic, pharmaceutical, geological, chemical, and petrochemical samples - even in the same run using the same method.Pressure-sealed glass, quartz, or PTFE-TFM vials as well as sealed quartz vessels enable the use of all common digestion acids. Additionally, sample stirring can be performed to support digestion of floating samples.
Streamlined workflow reduces manual steps
The PDC revolutionizes the sample preparation workflow:
Samples are weighed directly into the respective digestion vials – no need for weighing boats
Sample weights are directly transferred from the balance to Multiwave 7000 software.
The two-part digestion vials are closed with plug-on caps – no tools or screwing are necessary.
The filled sample vials are put into the respective racks which are placed into the PTFE-TFM liner. During transport the filled liner can be closed with a drip cup. This set consisting of vials filled with samples, rack and liner weighs less than 1 kg which facilitates the handling of up to 24 samples.
From this step onwards almost everything is software guided and includes automatic procedures:
Software-guided, mainly automated opening and closing procedures
Automated pressurization and pressure release and safe exhaust of acid fumes
Start of the digestion run at the push of a button
Ready-to-use methods and customized application support frees you from time-consuming method development.
Time for cleaning is reduced due to the use of disposable vials as well as automated cleaning procedures for the Multiwave 7000 itself. Robust vial components facilitate the cleaning of the vials.
Low running costs and high throughput
Multiwave 7000 has low running costs and provides a throughput of up to 24 vessels in one run thanks to budget-friendly thin-walled quartz, PTFE–TFM and disposable vials. Multiwave 7000 can also be upgraded for different sample weights and volumes with PTFE-TFM racks.
The temperature sensor, often a critical handling part, is built into the PDC resulting in an easy-to-clean instrument. This also means the temperature sensor is fully shielded by the liner to prevent corrosion and increase its lifetime.
Compact design size with integrated cooling system
Meeting the requirements of versatility, high temperature, and high pressure often results in instruments with a big footprint. Not with Multiwave 7000: Multiwave 7000 combines a built-in touch screen, an integrated water cooling, and a Pt-100 temperature sensor in an instrument of 50 x 80 cm footprint. There is no need for an external PC, external water cooling or external temperature control.
Digestion status under control
Multiwave 7000 is equipped with several automated notification systems. The Smart Light gives a visual notification of the system status for the digestion run. At the same time Multiwave 7000 sends an email notification to inform you about completed digestion runs and events. The audio signal indicates completed runs. Additionally, Multiwave 7000 can be remotely controlled via VNC from your computer, notebook, or mobile phone, so the digestion can be followed from any location.
