Aetites



Aetites, also called Aquilaeus or eagle stone, is a stone said[Please name specific person or group] to have magical properties, particularly connected to childbirth. It is mainly composed of iron oxide, with some flint and alumina, and is hollow with a loose nodule which rattles around inside. The stone was said[Please name specific person or group] to be found inside the stomach or neck of an eagle, or in its nest, hence its alternative name. It was said to heal epilepsy and prevent premature birth. Worn on the arm it was said[Please name specific person or group] to prevent miscarriage and worn on the thigh it aided childbirth.
