DMPEA, or 3,4-dimethoxy-phenethylamine, is a lesser-known psychedelic drug. DMPEA was first synthesized by Alexander Shulgin. In his book PIHKAL (Phenethylamines I Have Known and Loved), DMPEA has shown to produce no effects when tested with very high doses, such as 1000 mg or 10 mg intravenous. Very little data exists about the pharmacological properties, metabolism, and toxicity of DMPEA.
