Ian Donald



Professor Ian Donald (born December 1910 - died June 19 1987) was a Scottish doctor who pioneered the use of diagnostic ultrasound in medicine. His article Investigation of Abdominal Masses by Pulsed Ultrasound, published June 7 1958 in the medical journal The Lancet, was one of the defining publications in the field.

He was Regius Professor of Midwifery at the University of Glasgow
