Necrobiosis lipoidica
Necrobiosis lipoidica is a necrotizing skin condition that usually occurs in patients with diabetes. In such cases it may be called Necrobiosis Lipoidica Diabeticorum (NLD). NLD occurs in approximately 3% of the diabetic population, with the majority of sufferers being women (approximately 90%). Product highlightNecrobiosis lipoidica is closely related to Granuloma annulare. Clinical AppearanceNL/NLD most frequently appears on the patient's shins, often on both legs. The lesions are often tender and may ulcerate when injured. The first symptom of NL/NLD is often a "bruised" appearance that is not necessarily associated with a known injury. The extent to which NL/NLD is inherited is not known.
