TR Oil Services



Company:

TR Oil Services Ltd. ("TROS") was a a company which traded in oilfield production chemicals.


History:

TROS was established in 1972 by Simon Engineering in Manchester, UK. In 1983, German chemical giant Hoechst AG acquired a 50% share of the company. In 1993, Hoechst acquires the remaining shares and TROS became a 100% Hoechst subsidiary. Following the divestment of the Hoechst speciality chemicals business, TROS became a subsidiary of Clariant in 1997.

In 2003, the TROS business was integrated into the parent company, Clariant, under the name "Clariant Oil Services", and ceased to trade as a separate company.
