Born-Huang approximation



The Born-Huang approximation (named after Max Born and Huang Kun) is an approximation closely related to the Born-Oppenheimer approximation. It takes into account more nonadiabatic effects in the electronic Hamiltonian than the Born-Oppenheimer approximation.
