Diffusiphoresis

Diffusiphoresis is a motion of dispersed particles in a fluid induced by a diffusion gradient of molecular substances that are dissolved in the fluid. This gradient affects structure of the particles Double Layer (interfacial) and causes sliding motion of the fluid relative to the particle surface.

Diffusiophoresis was theoretically predicted and experimentally established by Derjaguin and others in 1947.[1]

Capillary osmosis is effect that is reverse to diffusiophoresis, like electro-osmosis is reverse to electrophoresis. For more details see [2].
