Toiletry

Personal hygiene product redirects here.

The colloquial term toiletry (pl. toiletries), or personal hygiene product, refers to personal-use and -care consumable consumer items and sundries (miscellaneous products), such as nail care implements, toilet paper, toothbrushes, toothpaste, facial tissues, deodorant, shaving cream, other common personal care items (personal hygiene products), such as specially formulated hand and body soaps, cleansers, moisturizers, and hair shampoos used in everyday maintenance of personal appearance, and scented sundries, such as cologne and perfume. There is some small distinction between these personal hygienic items and cosmetics, which are luxury goods solely used for beautification, but in practice such sundries are most often intermixed in retail store aisles.

Many corporations, such as Walgreens and Johnson & Johnson, have capitalised on the widespread multi-billion dollar nature of this market, and a significant portion of their products thus fall into this category.
