The SPEX 8000D Mixer/Mill® is the ultimate choice when it comes to above-average efficiency, high energy and long grinding time.

This high energy ball mill, along with the smaller "8000M Mixer/Mill®" model, sets the standard for mechanical alloying. With its robust design and mechanical reliability, it can operate for up to 100 minutes at a time as standard. With simple "chip tuning" it can even operate up to 175 hours (10,500 minutes) without interruption. The unique eight-shaped motion of the grinding bowl generates extremely high forces that grind and mix samples quickly and finely.

The mill is ideal for grinding hard material and mixing powders. It can be used dry or wet, with or without grinding aids. Various grinding and mixing containers with different volumes and materials are available for a wide range of applications.

Operation is simple and the electronic timer ensures reproducible results.

Typical applications include mechanical alloying, wet and dry grinding, and mixing and emulsifying. The mill can handle a wide variety of samples including rock, minerals, sand, cement, ceramics, glass, pharmaceuticals and paints. Grinding sets and grinding balls are available in various materials and sizes to meet individual requirements.
