VLS-Group to launch new Structure and new Executive Team
Chemical Logistics Group with new Business Unit Structure, new CEO and Executive Team
05-20-2010: Following the increasing demand of the chemical industry for tailor-made, sophisticated and integrated logistics solutions the chemical logistics provider “VLS-Group” does implement an entirely new structure and a new executive committee effective from May 1, 2010 in order to further improve its response to customer needs. The new structure is based on four business units, representing the key activities of VLS-Group.
The European network of more than 200.000 square meters of state-of-the-art warehouses for the storage and handling of classified and non-classified chemical materials, and the strategically located container storage locations will be managed by the new Business Unit “STORAGE”.
Its high-performance drumming and filling facilities for liquid and solid chemicals in Europe, as well as the tailor-made blending and mixing operations are assigned to the new “VALUE ADDED LOGISTICS” Business Unit.
The third new Business Unit covers the international “LOGISTICS” portfolio of VLS-Group, which implies the supply chain and transport management activities, the NVOCC and transport operations as well as the services of the dedicated logistics competence centres for Eastern Europe, CIS, the Near East and China.
In order to energize the group’s excellence in tailor-made logistics- and outsourcing solutions, customs operations, consulting, auditing and training, the related activities will be organised in the Business Unit “Services”.
Complementary to the new structure following appointments are effective May 1 2010.
Ms. Sandrine Montsma is appointed Chief Executive Officer of VLS-Group.
(French& Israeli, 41 years old) Sandrine Montsma has 16 years of marketing and general management experience in Europe and Israel in various industries with multinationals such as Procter & Gamble and Strauss Group. She has a MBA from INSEAD, Fontainebleau France and a BA in Economics and Business.
Mr. Wouter Roland is appointed Director Business Unit Storage.
(Belgian, 46 years old) Wouter Roland has 17 years experience in chemical warehousing and storage activities in Europe. He had sales and commercial management positions, recently as Commercial Manager at VLS-Group Belgium.
Mr. Paul Visser is appointed Director Business Unit Value Added Logistics.
(Dutch, 46 years old) Paul Visser has 19 years experience in forwarding, logistics and value added services for the chemical and related industries. He had various positions within the company, recently as Commercial Manager at VLS-Group Pernis.
Mr. Bauke van Aardenne is appointed Director Business Unit Logistics.
(Dutch, 58 years old) Bauke van Aardenne is working in the logistics industry since 34 years and had international management positions in the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia and Germany. Since 2006 he has been Managing Director of VLS-Group Logistics.
Mr. Sven van Raemdonck is appointed Director Business Unit Services.
(Belgian, 32 years old) Sven van Raemdonk is working in the chemical warehousing and logistics industries since 1999 and had various customer service and commercial management functions within VLS-Group Belgium.
Mr. Thomas Brakmann is appointed Director Marketing & Business Development.
(German, 32 years old) Thomas Brakmann has 12 years experience in international chemical logistics and supply chain management for the chemical industries. He had commercial, sales and key account management positions, recently as Commercial Manager at VLS-Group Germany.
Mr. Paul Fok is appointed Director Operations.
(Dutch, 42 years old) Paul Fok is working for the chemical warehousing industry for 18 years and had various management positions; the last 3,5 years he has been Director Netherlands of VLS-Group.
Ms. Ilse Neirynck is appointed Customer Service Manager Europe
(Belgian, 47 years old) Ilse Neirynck has a long career within VLS-Group in various functions, and is active in customer service for international customers for 25 years. Since 2004 Ilse Neirynck has been responsible for the customer service management at VLS-Group Belgium.
