Hamamatsu Photonics offers a wide range of compact spectrometers, from minispectrometers, e.g. C10988MA, to PMA12, a cooled fibre-spectrometers, which can be used for Hamamatsu Photonics’ measurement systems, e.g. in the C9920 series, MPM.
The new thumb sized miniature spectrometer C10988MA has an extremely small package size of 28 mm x 17 mm x 13 mm and a weight of only about 9 g, suits especially for integration into compact optical sensing equipment.
Based on a high level of integration, the number of optical componentes are kept to a minimum – and thus, costs are minimized as well. Only a concave grating with very short focal length which is replicated onto the top of convex glass lens using nano-imprint technology and a dedicated CMOS image sensor build the complete spectrometer. The C10988MA covers a spectral range from 340 nm to 750 nm.
The C9920 series are systems for measuring absolute quantum yields. The new C9920-03 enhances the wavelengths range from the current upper limit of 950 nm to 1100 nm. It is based on a 150 W Xenon lamp for sample excitation. Liquid as well as solid samples are placed inside an integration sphere. As detector a highly sensitive CCD spectrometer which measures up to 50 spectra per minute.
The long fibres used for excitation and detection allow a very flexible setup. This renders the C9920-03 a perfect system for conditions with highly limited space like in a glove box. The C9920 series for measuring absolute quantum yields was designed for applications including development of LEDs and OLEDs or basic research employing spectroscopic methods.
