AltanaThis article is about the corporation. For the village, see Alţâna. Product highlightAltana AG (ISIN: DE0007600801) is a German chemical company based in Bad Homburg. In 2003, Altana had 10,800 employees and a turnover of € 2.7 billion. Since 1977, Altana has been listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and is one of the M-DAX companies. From 2002 to May 2007, Altana was listed on the New York Stock Exchange under stock symbol AAA as well. The Altana group consisted of Altana Pharma AG (formerly Byk Gulden) with headquarters at Konstanz and Altana Chemie AG headquartered at Wesel. The pharmaceutical part Altana Pharma AG was sold to Nycomed. 50.1% of the company shares are owned by Susanne Klatten, one of the children of Herbert Quandt.
