Cotton pad

Cotton pads are pads similar to pledgets. They are made from cotton and can be used for medical or cosmetic purposes. For medical purposes, cotton pads are used to stop bleeding, from flu shots, or when you get your blood drawn, and are sometimes used as makeshift bandages by taping the cotton pad in place with tape. Cotton pads are used in the application and the removal of makeup. Cotton pads are also soft enough that they can be used to clean babies.
