IMU, Institut für Material- und Umweltanalytik GmbH was founded in January 1991 as a spin-off from the media supply and disposal technology division of the research center of the former microelectronics combine in Erfurt. Founded as one of the first private laboratories in Thuringia, IMU GmbH is one of the most efficient companies in the field of environmental consulting and analysis. The institute specializes in solving problems in the areas of water, soil and air as well as waste, sewage sludge, compost and contaminated sites through a balanced combination of consulting and analysis. Experts with more than 10 years of professional experience and modern equipment technology guarantee fast and precise processing of all assigned tasks.

Due to its range of services, IMU GmbH works together with customers from the public sector, industry and the private sector as well as with authorities and, last but not least, with other laboratories. In addition, we are represented on various committees. The Managing Director of our company is a founding member and President of UBAT e.V. (Verband Umweltberatung/Umweltanalytik Thüringen e.V.) and Chairwoman of the Environmental Committee of the Erfurt Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
