In August, Braskem finishes the Ethanol Drying unit
On August 31, Braskem finishes installation of the ethanol drying unit purchased in April. It will transform hydrated alcohol into anhydrous alcohol (without adding water), which is used to produce ETBE. The equipment will be installed at the UNIB RS Aromatics plants and it will permit logistics gains in ethanol transportation to supply Green Ethylene plants, which will use hydrated alcohol and ETBE. Total investment was R$ 24.5 million. Braskem consumes 150 million liters of alcohol to produce ETBE and it will buy another 450 million liters for its Green Ethylene plant.
