Garcia-Perez awarded EFCE Excellence Award

Dr. Jose Vicente Garcia-Perez has been awarded the 2010 EFCE Excellence Award in drying for his outstanding PhD thesis, Contribution to the knowledge on the use of power ultrasound in convective drying of foods.
Jose Garcia-Perez from the Food Technology Department of the Polytechnic University of Valencia received the award on 5 October 2010 at the 17th International Drying Symposium in Magdeburg, Germany.
The biennial award recognises the work of a young researcher or engineer, who demonstrates an outstanding contribution to field. The award comprises of a commemorative certificate, 1500 Euros, a travel grant of up to 500 Euros and an invitation to present at IDS 2010.
Garcia-Perez has been extensively involved with the research and development of drying, having numerous research papers published and included in various international congresses and journals as well as receiving many awards and accolades for his work.
