Dow Completes Acquisition of Biotechnology Services Division from The Collaborative Group

The Dow Chemical Company announced today that it has completed the acquisition of The Collaborative Group's biotechnology services Division. The purchase includes all assets of Collaborative BioAlliance, Inc., and Collaborative Smithfield Corp. The transaction's financial terms are not being disclosed. Dow and The Collaborative Group announced the asset purchase agreement on October 20, 2000.

This transaction includes the integration of the Biotechnology Services Division's employees and assets into Dow's Industrial Biotechnology Business. The acquisition is focused on growing and expanding Dow's capabilities and building Dow's presence in contract biopharmaceutical development and manufacturing for a wide range of products. This transaction will allow both Dow and The Collaborative Group to strengthen and grow their respective customer bases, nationally and internationally.
