Degussa Sells ex-SKW Cyanuric Chloride Operations to OXON

30-Jul-2001
Degussa AG of Duesseldorf has sold the Münchsmünster cyanuric chloride and sodium dicyanamide sales activities (sales in 2000: approx. Euro 23 million) to OXON Italia S.p.A., Pero, (Mi), Italy. Thereby, all requirements of the EU Commission made in connection with the VIAG/VEBA merger into E.ON have been fulfilled in a timely manner. The divestment became effective with the approval of the EU Commission dated July 27, 2001. Degussa will continue to produce these chemicals in Münchsmünster (located near Ingolstadt, Germany). OXON founded a Germany-based company, named Skyanide Chemicals GmbH which will take on, in full autonomy, all the related marketing activities. OXON is an established Italian producer of fine chemicals and agrochemical intermediates with a consolidated turnover of more than Euro 130 million. Oxon’s core competence consists in the combination of chemical and agricultural know-how, making it a perfect partner above all for Life Science customers.
