Rhodia strengthens its silicone elastomers European Mix & Fix Center® network

18-Sep-2000

Paris, September 14, 2000 Rhodia, through its Enterprise Silicones, one of the world's leading Silicone producers, has just taken full control of the Italian EVSIL company (previously jointly held by Rhodia and the Italian company Gibitre) specialised in the Heat Cure Silicone Elastomers (HCE) sector. EVSIL employs 26 people for sales of 16 millions euros.

EVSIL's HCE's are basically used to manufacture technical parts for the automotive, domestic appliance, food and medical application industries. They are currently experiencing high growth, close to 10%.

EVSIL is part of the Rhodia Silicones' European Mix & Fix Center® network, which is formulating and marketing ready-mixed silicone HCE elastomers. The formulating workshop and the sales team are based at Bergamo.

This acquisition enables Rhodia Silicones to pursue its development in the HCE sector, strengthening its European Mix & Fix Center® network with now 5 centers for Europe and thus consolidating its position as one of the European leaders.
