Modular Laboratory Automation for Elemental and Molecular Analysis

LiquidLab by HERZOG is a modular end-to-end system for fully automated sample preparation for inorganic and organic analytical methods. It covers the entire workflow—from sample loading through digestion and extraction techniques and integrated quality control to the automated transfer to analytical instruments.

LiquidLab supports both inorganic elemental analysis as well as chromatographic methods, in particular GC and GC-MS applications. A wide variety of sample matrices, including liquids and solids, are processed reproducibly, safely, and without contamination.

The system integrates a broad range of automated sample preparation techniques, including open-vessel digestion, microwave-assisted methods, fusion techniques, and extraction methods such as LLE, SPE, or QuEChERS. Precise dosing and transfer units ensure the highest level of reproducibility—regardless of sample throughput or matrix diversity.

A key added value is the integrated process monitoring. Using the PrepMaster Vision software, LiquidLab automatically verifies the completeness of digestion or extraction for each individual sample. Turbidity, undissolved particles, or color deviations are detected at an early stage, ensuring maximum process reliability prior to analysis.

LiquidLab can be directly connected to a wide range of analytical instruments. Automated sample identification, precise volume determination, and demand-based automatic dilution minimize manual intervention and significantly accelerate the overall analytical workflow. Thanks to its modular design, LiquidLab can be flexibly scaled and adapted to individual laboratory requirements.
