27-04-2012: WACKER POLYMERS is to raise its prices for dispersible polymer powders globally, as well as for dispersions and polyvinyl alcohol solutions in Europe. Effective June 1, 2012, prices for vinyl acetate-, vinyl chloride- and acrylic-based dispersible polymer powders of the VINNAPAS® brand will be increased globally by up to seven percent, or as customer contracts allow. In Europe, prices for VINNAPAS® and VINNOL® vinyl acetate- and acrylate-based dispersions will be raised, as well as for VINNACOAT® und POLYVIOL® polyvinyl alcohol solutions. Coming into effect June 1, 2012, prices will be increased by up to ten percent, or as otherwise allowed by individual contract terms.
Despite ongoing cost optimizing measures and productivity improvements, the current strong increase in raw materials, energy and transport costs makes this step inevitable.
