About 22 years ago, it became clear that the speciality chemicals market was simply not working as well as it could for so many stakeholders worldwide. High-quality, manufacturing specialists knew there was a demand in Europe for their product but found it hard to make the right connections. And chemical distributors across Europe with vast expertise, market knowledge and insight, often found it tough to find the right supplier. As a team, we had many years experience in the sector and we just felt there had to be a better way. We knew that manufacturers needed customers, and distributors needed to work together and establish strong links with ambitious manufacturers they could rely on to serve their own end-customers. And with that, in 2000, PlusChem was born. Now there was an independent broker who could enable working relationships on both sides and develop a solution for all. Simply put, we had the expertise that was missing in facilitating the trade of high quality chemicals between two specialists in their own fields – manufacturers and customers. Twenty years later, we’re proud to say that PlusChem is a European based network of distributors with a particular focus in speciality and fine chemicals. With a total turnover of €1.5 billion, we’re made up of six European and eight international companies, each one independently and privately owned.
