The purpose of the association is to promote the production and use of bioethanol and primarily fulfills the following tasks: - Representing the economic interests of its members in the formation of opinion in politics and society; - Providing technical advice and support to legislative and regulatory bodies; - Providing technical advice and support to the responsible authorities; - Cooperation with associations and companies in the biofuels sector to represent common interests; - Technical support for standardization organizations; - technical support for research and development in the field of biofuels; - Specialist information for the public and media on biofuels Goals The association is active in improving the legal and economic framework conditions in all technical areas relevant to biofuels. This concerns, for example, regulatory and tax law issues or standards. At a political level, the association is recognized as a point of contact for technical issues relating to biofuels in the German Bundestag, the German Bundesrat and at ministerial level. At EU level, the association represents the interests of the bioethanol industry at the EU Commission, the European Parliament and in Copa-Cogeca, Europe's largest farmers' and cooperatives' association. The BDBe is the point of contact for the media for questions relating to biofuels, with a focus on bioethanol, and contributes to informing the public about biofuels through publications, presentations at trade fairs and conferences and participation in lecture events. The BDBe works together with companies and associations in the energy sector on all issues relating to biofuels. In addition to representing the interests of its member companies and associations, the BDBe provides comprehensive information as well as ongoing advice and support on specific technical issues.
