scienceindustries is the Swiss trade association for the chemical, pharmaceutical and biotech industries. More than 250 companies operating in Switzerland in the chemical, pharmaceutical, biotech and other science-based industries are members. scienceindustries is a key member of economiesuisse, the umbrella organization of the Swiss economy. scienceindustries was founded in 1882 under the name "Schweizerische Gesellschaft für Chemische Industrie" (Swiss Chemical Industry Association) as an economic and political interest group for the chemical and pharmaceutical industry. scienceindustries aims to promote and protect the interests of its members and represents the industry vis-à-vis the public, state authorities and international organizations. scienceindustries is organized as an association with a General Assembly and a Board of Directors. It has maintained a professional secretariat in Zurich since 1945. It works according to a flexible issue management system that allocates the available resources to the respective topics in a prioritized and timely manner in accordance with the instructions of the Board of Directors. All members can use the electronic Membernet, which is accessible only to them, to obtain comprehensive information on the status of individual issues at any time and influence further work.
