The publisher of the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 and therefore responsible for testing textiles for harmful substances is the International OEKO-TEX® Association. This is an association of 16 renowned, independent textile research and testing institutes in Europe and Japan with representatives and contacts in more than 60 countries worldwide. Based on their respective core competencies, the OEKO-TEX® member institutes provide important impulses for innovations within the textile and clothing industry with their diverse and wide-ranging activities. Together with the manufacturers, they also make a significant contribution to the development of high-quality textile products at all stages of processing with their testing services. Many years of experience and the testing expertise of the institutes also form the basis for the joint further development of the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, which has been continuously optimized and expanded since its introduction thanks to technical expertise in textile production and scientific findings from chemistry, medicine and related fields of research.
