At Ucaneo, we’re developing a a new generation of Direct Air Capture (DAC) that mimics the human lung. Our mission is bold and measurable: remove half a gigaton of CO₂ from the atmosphere by 2035 – roughly the weight of every human on Earth.
Our heat-free, low-energy technology enables flexible operation with renewable power and supports modular scale-up. Today, we’re already achieving costs below €300 per ton, with a clear path to below €100 per ton, validated by an independent third-party feasibility study.
How it works: Air passes through our biomimetic solvent, where CO₂ is captured in a stable bicarbonate form, similar to how CO₂ travels through the human body. This enables efficient capture even at very low concentrations in ambient air.
Inside our electrochemical stack, tailored biocatalysts accelerate conversion, and electrodialysis releases and concentrates the CO₂ into a continuous stream of high-purity gas — all at room temperature and without heat-intensive regeneration.
