Albemarle Appoints Chief Compliance Officer and Corporate Secretary

Albemarle Corporation announced that the company's Board of Directors has elected Assistant General Counsel Nicole C. Daniel to the position of Vice President, Chief Compliance Officer and Corporate Secretary effective immediately. She will also continue in her role as Assistant General Counsel.

Albemarle chairman, president and chief executive officer Mark C. Rohr said, "Nicole's experience in the area of legal compliance and her success in her current role as Assistant General Counsel for Albemarle makes her well suited to direct Albemarle's compliance, SEC and corporate secretary activities. Her technical legal skills, combined with her broad-based understanding of our business, will further enhance our emphasis on the design and monitoring of global compliance programs."

Daniel has served as Assistant General Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary since January 2008. Prior to that, she spent three years leading our investor relations program as Corporate Director - Investor Relations. Daniel joined Albemarle on November 18, 2002 in Richmond as Associate Counsel and was elected Assistant Corporate Secretary in 2003. Prior to joining Albemarle, she was an Associate with Hunton & Williams LLP in Richmond, Va., and an Associate with Woods Rogers P.L.C., in Roanoke, Virginia.

Daniel received her B.A. from the College of William and Mary in government and graduated magna cum laude from Indiana University School of Law in 1997.
