Open consultation on ECHA multi-annual work programme
The years 2011-2013 will see important developments in the implementation of the REACH and CLP Regulations. These include the acceleration of ECHA’s scientific evaluation activities, the start of substance evaluation performed by Member States and coordinated by ECHA, the establishment of a classification and labelling inventory for substances, the second registrations deadline with its updates of guidance, tools and manuals and the first applications under the new authorisation procedure for substances of very high concern. This MAWP has been written at a time when the first registration deadline of 30 November 2010 was still months ahead. As there is still uncertainty regarding the number of registration dossiers that companies will be submitting by the deadline, ECHA may need to adjust its planning should new evidence appear on the expected number of registations .
More detailed planning can be found in the ECHA’s annual work programme. The annual programme for this year is already published and the programme for 2011 will be adopted in October 2010. ECHA is looking forward to receiving your comments by 09 May 2010 and will take them into account when finalising the MAWP. The Management Board will be asked to approve the final version at its meeting of 22-23 June 2010.
