Merck Appoints Heads of Corporate Auditing and Corporate Strategy
Dr. Friederike Rotsch (39) joined Merck in 2005 as a member of the Legal Department, where she was also responsible for Corporate Governance. During this time, among other things, she supported the acquisition of Serono as well as the divestment of the Generics business from a legal perspective. In 2007, she was appointed Head of Corporate Legal Services. Prior to her career at Merck, she worked as a lawyer for the law firm Hengeler Mueller. Rotsch studied Law at the University of Passau and the University of Wales/College of Cardiff. She earned a doctorate at the University of Passau and completed her legal training in Bavaria as well.
Isabel De Paoli (37) began her career at Merck in Chemicals Business Development in 2006. She transferred to the Merck Serono division in 2009. Shortly thereafter, she was appointed Head of Global Strategic Planning Oncology. Before joining Merck, De Paoli worked for several years as a consultant at the Boston Consulting Group as well as a manager at Permira Beteiligungsberatung, a European private equity company. She studied process engineering at the Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg.
