Ashland's General Polymers Division Launches Improved GP ezOrdersm Electronic
The General polymers (GP) Division of Ashland Distribution Company has launched an enhanced version of its electronic commerce site, GPezOrdersm, for its U.S. customers.
The improved version of GPezOrdersm - located at www.gpashland.com - now includes several new features. Access to multiple, customizable order templates will increase efficiency and accommodate past order information. A searchable product catalog can be searched by common, industry and technical names and links products to technical data sheets. Multiple users can be registered with different access levels and with the ability for accounts with multiple locations to order from a single site. Access to purchase indirect or MRO materials is now available. GPezOrder customers now have the opportunity to improve their purchasing efficiency through access to sourceXplorer.comsm, an online procurement solution for non-production supplies and services. Customers wishing to register for GPezOrder should contact their General Polymers sales consultant or customer service representative at 1-800-828-7659.
"These enhancements to our divisional electronic ordering sites were based on the input and needs of our customers," said Peter M. Bokach, president, Ashland Distribution Company.
"Our electronic ordering process is now more efficient, provides additional information, and offers easy online access to non-chemical related goods and services. We plan to continue adding functionality and content to our e-commerce offerings on an ongoing basis to ensure that we maximize the value we bring to our customers and supplier-partners," Bokach added. In addition to buying thermoplastic raw materials, General Polymers Division's U.S. customers now can purchase a variety of other materials used in their day-to-day business and plant operations through sourceXplorer.com on line purchasing service. The sourceXplorer.com site has established pre-negotiated contracts with industry-leading suppliers to provide Ashland customers with access to thousands of products from hundreds of manufacturers. Product categories offered currently include safety supplies and equipment; electrical supplies; laboratory equipment and supplies; pipes, valves, and fittings; telecommunications services; and office supplies. There are plans to add more product categories to the sourceXplorer.com on-line services offering in the future.
