Dow Oxygenated Solvents Signs Agreement with Chemidex Cybrary

Midland, Mich. - October 27, 2000 - The Dow Chemical Oxygenated solvents Business announced today its participation in the Chemidex Cybrary. The agreement is part of the Oxygenated Solvents business' commitment to the Dow customer interface initiatives such as exploring and utilizing new electronic channels to market.

The Chemidex Cybrary is an information resource designed to supply specific product information to paint and coatings formulators. It provides an easy way to search product attributes of the raw materials by company name, product type, keyword, or physical property. Through the Cybrary (www.chemidex.com), the Dow Oxygenated Solvents business will provide information on its DOWANOL* E-series and P-series glycol ether products directly to coatings formulators.

"We're going into the Chemidex Cybrary with the clear goal of having a major presence on the site," says Ralf Brinkmann, marketing manager, Dow North America. "We have the broadest glycol ether product line and technical information for formulators to search, and we view this as a means for saving customers time in resolving their formulation problems.
