The business activities, contracts, and employees of
Kemira Agro Oy subsidiary A. Jalander
Oy have been acquired by a new company, which will be named A. Jalander Oy. Jalander
management will hold the majority in the new company, and
Kemira will participate as an
investor and minority owner with a stake of 16 %. The status of the staff will not be altered by
the deal.
A. Jalander Oy manufactures

sector in
Finland. In addition to pallets, the company provides clearance
services for ships in
Kokkola. The net
sales of Jalander totalled 8.8 million euros last year. Personnel numbers 45.
Through the deal, Jalander will further increase its focus on the development of customer
service as well as other customer-based functions and products. Delivery contracts that have
already been made with clients will be fulfilled without any changes, comments Jalander
Managing Director Heikki Lehtimäki. Kemira for its part seeks growth from comprehensive
services related to pulp and
paper chemicals,
water treatment chemicals, and

coatings. Kemira also focuses on specialty
fertilizers and
industrial chemicals.
This arrangement will not affect the position of suppliers or partners. All contracts will continue
unchanged for their duration. Jalander will also strive for long term partnerships with all
suppliers, where reliability and a good overall quality of business are common goals for all
parties.
