BOC doubles production capacity at its Bessemer, Alabama helium transfill facility
Dan Morgan, U.S. helium business director, BOC, says, "Bessemer's increased production capacity will help us to meet the growing demand for helium from our customers in the Southeast. The added capacity will also increase security of supply for all helium customers in the region, not only those serviced directly from Bessemer."
The Bessemer facility receives helium in bulk liquid containers and repackages it into bulk tube trailers, liquid helium dewars and high pressure cylinders for use in a variety of high tech applications including fiber optic manufacture, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), gas chromatography, leak testing, and superconductivity research.
