Customers benefit from faster delivery and enhanced service

27-Jan-2005

BASF Coatings de México S.A. de C.V. has opened a new manufacturing plant in Monterrey, Mexico. BASF Coatings customers in America will benefit from the faster product delivery capabilities and enhanced level of services that can now be offered. This new service package includes a new "paint-on-demand" (POD) manufacturing plant. Initially ten new employee positions will be created.

The state-of-the-art plant is a project of BASF Coatings de México and is affiliated with the Tultitlán site. In Monterrey BASF Coatings de México produces small batches, mainly supplying regional coil coaters. The plant can also produce 1000-liter batches. In addition to the production facility that allows local product supply, the plant also has a laboratory and administrative offices. This enables BASF Coatings de México to offer technical support, the formulation of new colors and color matching services as well.

"This additional site simply puts BASF closer to many of its key accounts. Plus, the new paint-on-demand plant in Monterrey enables us to improve our service and shorten product delivery times to less than five days." explains Peter Fischer, Managing Director of BASF Coatings de México.
