The growth of the specialist for online gas analysis, InProcess Instruments, is partly due to a major order from a Chinese steel mill. In cooperation with a stell-plant construction company five were shipped to the People's Republic of China. The systems will be used for gas analysis in steel converters. Quick mass spectrometric online gas analysis guarantees a considerable quality increase in steel production. The use of online analysis provides also effects in cost saving energy and the reduction in total. Three systems were integrated in new plant equipment, the two remaining ones were installed in existing converters.
Compared to the year 2003, InProcess Instruments' turnover increased by 40 percent and the number of delivered systems nearly doubled.
