Angus announces price increase for Tris Amino products portfolio

Effective October 1, 2007, ANGUS Chemical Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Dow Chemical Company, is announcing a ten percent (10%) price increase for both list and off list prices for its entire TRIS AMINOTM brand tromethamine product portfolio around the world. The price increase impacts all products sold under the TRIS AMINO trade name including TRIS AMINO Ultra PC; TRIS AMINO Buffer; TRIS AMINO Crystals; TRIS AMINO HCl Ultra Pure; TRIS AMINO Industrial; TRIS AMINO 40% Concentrate.

"Driven by continued increasing costs, this price increase is necessary to enable continued investment in our TRIS AMINO portfolio," said Liam Doherty, global marketing manager for ANGUS Chemical Company. 'Our drive is to ensure a sustainable long term offering for these important specialty products across all regions of the world."

TRIS AMINO Tromethamine (2-amino-2-hydroxymethyl-1,3-propanediol) is a non-volatile, low-odor, colorstable alkanolamine which possesses primary amine functionality and is used in a wide variety of applications including personal care & cosmetics, life science utilities and industrial applications. The active material is an aminofunctional triol that is useful as a mildly-alkaline pH buffer, scavenger for free formaldehyde and synthesis raw materials.
