REICHHOLD NAMES NEW COO AND PRESIDENT

Today Mr. Yoshi Kawashima, chairman and CEO of Reichhold Inc. announced the appointment of Gary Krall as president & COO effective April 1. Mr. Kawashima and the Dainippon Ink and chemicals (DIC, Reichhold's parent company) Board of Directors appointed Krall to this position in a strategic move of turning Reichhold into a truly global company.

Krall will oversee Reichhold's day-to-day operations and Kawashima will oversee management, serve as a liaison to DIC and Reichhold's Board of Directors, and focus on industry and community relations. Both will concentrate on globalizing Reichhold, streamlining business processes and growing Reichhold's business.

Krall currently is senior vice president of North America. In 1998 he came to Reichhold with 23 years of proven experience as a leader with several different companies. In his first role with Reichhold, he was the vice president of the Composites distribution team and then led the Cast Polymer business team while still leading the distribution team. In October of 1999 Krall was appointed senior vice president of Finance and began his current position in April of 2000. Krall received his Bachelor and Masters of Business Administration, Finance, from the University of Toledo.

"Through my association with Gary, I have been impressed with his astuteness, his drive, his integrity and his ability to lead. I am 100 percent confident that he will lead Reichhold to success in the new millenium," said Kawashima.

Reichhold Focuses on Globalization in New Year Reichhold is concentrating on globalization in the New Year making it a stronger, more competitive company. Currently, Reichhold has manufacturing facilities in Europe, Latin America and North America, which operate independently of each other.

"We need to look at our businesses as units instead of by region so that we are operating in the most cost-effective, efficient way as possible. The world is changing rapidly and Reichhold wants to be a global solution provider for all of our customers regardless of where they are in the world," said Kawashima.
