Eastman Chemical Selects Grand Central Communications' Web Services Network To Improve Business Relationships

20-Feb-2002

Grand Central Communications, Inc., provider of the leading Web services network, announced that Eastman Chemical Company has chosen Grand Central as a key enabling platform for distributing and managing Web services with their partners and customers.

Eastman Chemical is leveraging Web services to more effectively work with their distribution partners. By investing in a Web services architecture, Eastman can enable information and applications located behind their firewall to be more broadly consumed by their partners. Using Grand Central, these Web services can be more easily deployed and managed with appropriate levels of security, reliability and visibility.

"We anticipate that Web services will enable our company to work more effectively with our partners and customers," said Carroll Pleasant, chief technology strategist of Eastman Chemical. "Grand Central plays a critical role in our architecture, helping us to quickly and cost-effectively deploy and manage these services across the Internet. And, since Grand Central connects directly with our existing webMethods infrastructure, we can extend this investment into a new range of functionality for our customers and partners."
