February 22, 2002 — The state-of-the-art DuPont Apparel & Textile Research Center (ATRC) recently opened its doors in Taoyuan, Taiwan.

Government officials, DuPont business partners and customers attended the opening of the laboratory, which has the same top- quality equipment and staff as comparable facilities in the United States, Europe and Japan.

Eric Chueh, general manager of DuPont Apparel & Textile Sciences, said establishing ATRC will help DuPont to provide its business partners with the latest techniques and information needed to give them a competitive edge. Graham Laycock, end-use research manager of DuPont Asia ATRC, said the facility will focus on innovation, developing value-added products, enhancing the function of new products and improving manufacturing efficiency.

Getting paid for what we know – in addition to what we make – is part of the DuPont knowledge intensity strategy for achieving sustainable growth.
