Cooperation for Engineering Plastics Technologies with National Metal and Materials Technology Center of Thailand

(President: Yasumasa Komura, Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan, hereafter referred to as Polyplastics) and "National Metal and Materials Technology Center" of Thailand (Director: Paritud Bhandhubanyong, Office: Bangkok, Thailand, hereafter referred to as MTEC) reached a fundamental agreement on the establishment of mutual cooperative relationship in the technological field of the engineering plastics, and affixed individual signatures to the Memorandum Of Understanding on February 25, 2002. While both parties agree to mutually accept their research staffs, Polyplastics provides technical supports with regard to the engineering plastics such as molding, design, assessment and analysis of molded goods, and application and development of the goods, and MTEC provides necessary information to Polyplastics, to address development of the engineering plastics through the technological exchange meetings or other occasions between both parties. Both parties also reached an agreement with regard to mutual utilization of the research facilities and equipment of individual parties. Through this action, Polyplastics expects that serviceableness of the technical support for the customers in Thailand can be improved. MTEC is planning to promote raising of the plastics industries in Thailand owing to the technical supports with regard to the engineering plastics provided by Polyplastics, based on the prospect that the demand for the engineering plastics may be expanded mainly by the automobile parts industries located in Thailand. Both parties are planning to determine concrete cooperative program more firmly and implement the program in the future.
