In the event of an IBC (Intermediate Bulk Container) fire, the container melts in less than a minute; the flammable liquid escapes, immediately catches fire, and ignites the entire exposed surface.

In contrast to conventional spill containment pallets, the BWCon 1.400 Fire Protection Trough offers safe storage of flammable liquids in IBCs in this situation. It prevents the spread of fires thanks to high galvanized steel side , which shield the fire from neighboring IBCs, other stored goods, or people in the vicinity, and contain the fire. Uncontrolled spread of the fire from the IBC is prevented.

The integrated flame arrester made of stainless steel mesh directs the liquid into the lower containment area, separating most of the flammable liquid from the fire.

In addition to the 1,000 liters of the IBC, the BWCon 1.400 can also hold 400 liters of extinguishing agent.

When the IBC is stored in the Fire Protection Trough, the filling and dosing options on the IBC remain usable.

The BWCon 1.400 is suitable for production facilities where flammable liquids are used, such as in the (petro)chemical, food production, or pharmaceutical industries and many others. Therefore, it is designed for easy loading. It is equipped with pallet roller rails onto which the IBC can be placed using a forklift and then pushed by hand to the end stop.

The BWCon 1.400 Fire Protection Trough is FM-certified and meets the highest safety standards. It can be used mobile with the help of a forklift and is “made in Germany”.
