Insulating standoff bolts, insulating supports and insulators are indispensable construction components for safe electrical separation in chemical engineering systems. These components reliably prevent unwanted current conduction between live parts and grounded structures.
Materials and Technical Properties
The insulators are made from high-quality plastics such as polysulfone (PS) and polyethersulfone (PES), partially glass fiber reinforced for increased mechanical strength. Internal threads made from brass and external threads made from steel ensure secure mechanical connection. The components achieve a dielectric strength of 10 kV/mm and an electrical breakdown strength of 150 kV/mm according to DIN 53481.
Temperature and Chemical Resistance
The operating temperature range from -40°C to +80°C enables use in various environmental conditions. The chemical resistance to alcohols, weak acids and alkalis as well as organic mineral acids makes them ideal for chemical engineering applications. The fire class UL 94 HB meets industrial safety requirements.

These medium voltage insulators are used in circuit breakers, switching chambers, disconnect switches, overhead line networks, substations and as bushing insulators on high voltage transformers.
