ESYTEC Energie- und Systemtechnik GmbH was founded in Bochum in 1980 and has been operating as a spin-off company of the Chair of Technical Thermodynamics at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (LTT-Erlangen) since 1992. Thanks to the close cooperation with LTT-Erlangen as a research institution, ESYTEC is always one step ahead of the "state of the art".

ESYTEC is a service provider and supplier in the fields of energy, heat and combustion technology, environmental and process engineering as well as non-contact and thus interference-free optical measurement technology with a focus on laser measurement technology. The services include the provision of individual advice and calculations as well as special developments of systems and components in the areas mentioned, the performance of contract measurements at ESYTEC or the customer, the creation of customized hardware and software as well as the sale of components, complete systems and equipment. In addition, corresponding information and technical literature is published and distributed and training and further education measures are organized and carried out. Some of the activities are characterized by the fact that ESYTEC operates on the market as a spin-off company of the Chair of Technical Thermodynamics (LTT) at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, thus further developing ideas and initial developments of the LTT and bringing them to the market.
