Elemica Announces Release of Version 4.0 of the Elemica Connected Solution™

Connected Solution Version 4.0 extends industry interoperability

Wayne, Pennsylvania and Frankfurt, Germany-April 23, 2002- Elemica (www.elemica.com), a neutral network founded by the world's leading chemical companies, today announced release of The Elemica Connected solution Version 4.0. The Elemica Connected Solution integrates the ERP systems among the buyers and sellers in the chemical industry. The 4.0 release supports the order-to-cash, procure-to-pay and logistics execution business processes as defined in the latest version of the Chemical Industry Data Exchange (CIDX)™ Chem eStandards™ version 2.0.2. The Dow Chemical Company was among the first to implement Version 4.0. According to Andy DuPont, global director of eChannels for Dow, "The Elemica Connected Solution Version 4.0 enables Dow to take advantage of the latest order management and supply chain functionality at a minimal cost. Because Elemica supports interoperability, our transitions will be transparent to customers and suppliers." Elemica CTO Stewart McCutcheon stated, "Elemica supports the latest standards and technology that allow companies to continue to get value from their existing technology investment. Version 4.0 is truly interoperable. Elemica members can upgrade to the latest Chem eStandard with the assurance that they will continue to interoperate with their trading partners running previous versions of the CIDX Chem eStandards (2.0.0 and 2.0.1). Version 4.0 also supports interoperability with other protocols such as xCBL, EDI ANSI X.12 or SAP IDOCs."
