This year, DuPont is also celebrating the 40th anniversary of the introduction of Teflon® as a consumer brand. The introduction of Teflon® non-stick coating on cookware propelled the brand to become the most widely recognized and highly valued consumer brand in the DuPont portfolio.

When it was introduced in 1962, DuPont Teflon® non-stick coating sparked a revolution in the housewares industry and helped to revitalize a mature market. Never before had cooking - especially cleaning up afterwards - been so easy. Throughout the years as food trends and lifestyles have changed, DuPont has repeatedly re-engineering Teflon® coatings to deliver benefits consumers desire.

"Since making its debut on cookware 40 years ago, DuPont Teflon® non-stick has become one of the most recognized and respected brands in the world," said Christa Kaiser, DuPont global housewares segment leader. "From the beginning, DuPont has aggressively marketed and promoted this innovative product and continually raised the bar, setting important benchmarks for the industry."

Today, the Teflon® brand can be found in applications ranging from furniture upholstery and DuPont Stainmaster® carpeting to clothing, windshield wiper blades and personal care items such as Remington Hair Care Products.
