The ALTANA Group has achieved its best result to date in the latest sustainability rating from the international assessment platform EcoVadis, scoring 85 out of 100 points. Compared to last year’s already very strong result, the specialty chemicals group was able to improve by another point. Based on the current EcoVadis assessment criteria, ALTANA was awarded the Gold Medal. The improved overall rating reflects the company’s continued performance in sustainability across all divisions. With this result, ALTANA and its divisions BYK, ECKART, ELANTAS, and ACTEGA, rank among the top 5 percent of all companies evaluated worldwide, across all industries.

“We are very pleased with this result,” says Dr. Tammo Boinowitz, member of the Management Board of ALTANA AG. “The further increase in our score confirms that sustainability is firmly anchored in our business practices and is having an increasing impact.”

Today, tens of thousands of companies work with EcoVadis. The rating service evaluates companies across four categories: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. The methodology is based on internationally recognized standards such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the principles of the UN Global Compact, and the ISO 26000 standard.
